Taking Pictures of a Water Splash

Many times we look at those stoke water splash pictures and we wonder WOW! how do they do that? Water splashes are a simply amazing thing to photograph and to work with because they are very versatile! you are always going to get different results. It is not really hard to photograph a water splash. I took this water splash pictures using three speed lights, two of them had very strong blue and teal gels. If you don’t have speed light gels you can use some food coloring on the water to make it stand out from the background. I had a white background and a speed light pointing to it to make the water splash stand out from a nice white background. I took this water splash pictures outside in the grass to not make a mess inside! I took this pictures in The Gates, apartment complex at Rexburg Idaho. A master of water photography is my good friend Caryn Esplin. You can look at her work here: http://www.carynesplin.com/
