Creating Awesome Product Photography at Home
We all love seeing beautiful product photography against white backgrounds that is crisp and clear. Product photography is so much for than shooting on a solid colored background with perfect lighting. It’s about showcasing a product in it’s natural environment. Take for example a bottle of soap. Where is its natural environment? Most likely at home in the bathroom or kitchen counter.
Product photography at home is a lot easier than one might think it is. With each and every individual product, think about what it is about and any of the unique features and benefits. Once you identify those, try to find a place at home that would complement the product and its features and benefits. For example, this lemon soap reminds me of the outdoors and nature, so I placed it on wood and created a great shot with a natural, outdoorsy background.
The other thing about product photography is light. When shooting product photography at home, look for places that are bright and have lots of natural light. Use the natural light to evenly light up the product to highlight different angles and to show off the scene that you placed it in. These pictures were taken at a lodge close to the Tetons in Jackson Wyoming. One of my favorites product photographers is Marcus Nilsson, you can look at his web page by clicking on this link: http://www.marcusnilsson.com/Pictures/?c=78
Wow! My favorite is the soap and the cologne. The lighting for the cologne gives it a beautifully smooth look and I love the lemon that makes the soap look fresh. Great job! Check this guy out! http://jessicacalderwoodphotography.com/blog/tag/rexburg-temple-wedding-photographer/
