Creating Awesome Produce Food Photography at Home
Fruit is so colorful and full of different textures, which is why it makes it so cool to photograph. With any food photography, lighting and depth is key to getting an awesome photograph.
When people think of food photography, they most likely associate it with cooking an entire 12-course, Pinterest worthy meal. This is not the case. Photographing produce – straight out of your refrigerator – is just as fun and challenging when it comes to food photography at home.
When it comes to photographing produce, variety is the number one thing. But don’t worry if you don’t keep a cornucopia of fruit in your fridge at home. Repetition of the same object in photography is just as pleasing. So if all you have is 3 Granny Smith apples in the fridge, line them up and start shooting different angles and perspectives photograph that create interest.
Another super cool trick for photographing produce (at home or anywhere) is to get up close and personal with macro. If you have access to macro tubes, macro filters or even a macro lens, go ahead and grab it. You’ll be amazed at how intricate produce can be and what an even more amazing shot you can get. These pictures were taken close to the Tetons in Jackson Wyoming.
