Today we had a color correcting session for the Sei Bella’s products. This session is when the brand manager comes down to the post processing room and we go through every image making sure that the color of the product in the photo is exactly the same or very close to the actual product. This session takes a couple hours since we usually also do test prints and review color profiles to make sure that the color will print right as well. We use different adjustment layers in Photoshop to achieve the correct color. Some of this adjustment layers are Hue and Saturation, Vibrancy, Selective Color, and Color Balance.

For the rest of the day I worked on retouching some model shots that had been taking in the past for SeiBella’s Mexico’s Catalog. This kind of retouching take a long time. It is important to make sure that the hair and makeup look perfect. Hair is one of the hardest things to retouch. I have been using a the Frequency Separation 2.0 technique with the Median Filter to achieve better results. I use the clone stamp tool the the high frequency layer and then the mixer bush in the low frequency layer to achieve perfect hair. I use this same technique to retouch skin and do some touch ups on makeup. Enhancing the neck and even sometimes making it longer is something that can make beauty shots look more powerful and engaging.
